  • Hey thnx. ive been tryin to get this thing run for eons.

  • This really is not XP Mode; it's just an XP virtual machine. The true XP mode does more than just install on a VM, it is a true seamless mode...using the host OS taskbar, etc. Nice video though.

  • microsoft disabled that

  • I had these same errors. I closed virtualbox, reloaded it as administrator and now it all seems to work!

  • @PCtweaksANDtricks Yes. I did enabled "IO APIC" checkbox. Thanks for your suggestion which lead to related issue and my problem had been solved yesterday by enabling the support of dual core in virtual server through BIOS... btw, win7 and linux are both windows that i wanted to install into virtual server. ^^

  • @PCtweaksANDtricks Thanks, that solved this problem for me, now onto the next one.

  • @andykunsuen If you're installing XP Mode, did you TakeOwnership of the .vhd file and uncheck the 'read-only' attribute? If you're still having problems, try setting the processors to 1 and disabling IO APIC option. Hope this helps.

  • @andykunsuen Did you check the "Enable IO APIC" checkbox? Also what guest OS are you trying to install on VirtualBox?

  • @PCtweaksANDtricks My VMBox also having the same problem, it happen when i set my processor to TWO. My computer is core duo 2 which actually supporting 2 processor but VMBox seem refused it.

  • @dsgamecube Never mind. Note to self: don't leave VPC open in XP mode and then try to modify the same VHD in VBox.
