Pakistan Television (PTV) entertained millions of viewers in Pakistan all alone from 1964 to 1990. It was PTV who created classic dramas, shows, music & much much more. PTV change the shape of entertainment in Pakistan forever. PTV dramas literally emptied the roads of Pakistan. From historical to classic, from fictional to non-fictional, from serious to comedy, PTV dramas still reminds us that this is a real drama. Although in this age of cable & satellite channels when we have more than 100 channels on our TV who are transmitting 24/7, there was a time when entire Pakistan would switch on its TV from 8pm to 9pm to watch a PTV drama. We still remember those characters that made us laugh, cry & ran a chill in our spine. Those characters became our family members & they entertained us very well.
On November 26th 1964, Pakistan Television (PTV) started its transmission in Pakistan & still growing stronger. Regardless of being a government department, PTV produced the best work in country that is unmatched by any other government department. On November 26th 2006, as PTV turned 40 years old, a show was telecast about PTV's history. It was written by Anwar Maqsood & hosted by Moin Akhtar. In this show, some rare seen footage was telecast about PTV & classic Black & White clips from 60s to the late 90s.

In this 4th part, you can see the how PTV's policies were maintained when Zia-ul-Haq was president of Pakistan from mid 70s to late 80s. It is noticeable that despite Zia's strict policies, PTV showed even those programs that criticized not only his policies but also other government departments.
