I just lost my father in law my second dad we played this song at his wake I miss him so much such a beautiful song and so much what my heart is feeling now ty mr chet atkins for writing this and ty gas house gang for such a perfect rendition of this he loved barbershop such a fitting farewell to a man so great ty so much music is such a healing medium

@ranhar1 Regarding to their CD "A Little Night Music" (3rd track) it is a Jim Henry arrangement. Their website tells that it is not available.

The song was written by the great guitarist/producer Chet Atkins about his dad.
I think it's a David Wright arrangement, as were so many GHG arrangements. None better.

beautiful. i remember when my dad would put this song on when we were in the car on the way home from NY on weekends and it would bring tears to our eyes and i was only about 8 years old

How many of us feel the same about loved ones but could never express ouselves the way Gas House Gang says it in this song. A beautiful tribute to those we loved and still love told in a most memorable way. One of the best LOVE SONGS I ever heard.
