A new generation of rappers in the Philippines has emerged from Manila's poorest slums where violence is a way of life.

The former gang members are using music to tell their story and have also become the subject of an internationally acclaimed film.

  • It's a matter of choice. They can dream..... and they want to be famous artist as well. They are not feeling African-American. It's their talent, learn how to realize those people around you. It's a talent and please don't antagonized people around you.

  • lol disgusting news

  • sounds like this neighborhood could use a mayor like the one in davo

  • @batangwaray1 Whoever said that I claimed rap to have come from the Philippines? But they are not copying those "gangstas" from the USA. Listen to their lyrics, in case you speak our languages. They don't call women "bitches" don't use cuss words or brag about how they are going to kill someone. Huge difference. Most of the time they rap about the person they love & how they want to escape poverty. And what's wrong with OPM? 我现在真想太多美国人是傻子们。 Ang gagara mo, alam mo yun?

  • @Theacorda O, tapos? Ano gagawin nila kung nadeport sila? Wala silang trabaho doon. Walang paaralan doon. Bale, walang pera doon.

  • @batangwaray1 They aren't copying the U.S. Americans. They don't even speak English. Metro Manila is a really tough place. Especially locations like Tondo or Recto. The police doesn't even go there after dark. This is not something to brag about. It is a serious problem which we should try to solve. And not do your stupid alligations.

  • i agree with yu ,ur right pare! nothing compare to p.i. slum especially from where i came from tondo , this is da real thing!
