experimental animation "I dream in black and white" (part 2)

my first attempt at animation...an experimental short i did back in university...it is a series of abstract and surreal imagery set to two pieces of classical music of higly contrasting natures...it merges the use of traditional 2d animation with the stop motion technique along with the use of digitally manipulated black and white photography...there is no plot or fixed narrative to the short...it is just an absurd dream in black and white...again it was just an experiment...the video is in two parts...

hanan says: i like it. first part is creepy. i'm glad i wasn't watching it by myself at night. 2nd part is still creepy but also funny, and the last part when the faces come up is touching especially with the music. the drawings are cool, the faces, eyes, rooms and landscapes.

Wow, you say this was just an experiment as if it's nothing much, but it's really very good. I think the two parts with different pieces of music should be separated into two films, though, the first part with the Ligeti is amazing, I wanted it to go on for another ten minutes. I hope you have more stuff out there somewhere.

thnx...the first piece is gyorgi ligeti's "ramifications"...the second is an excerpt from "pavane for a dead princess" by maurice ravel
