The song is essentially lamenting the passage of time through two voices. The younger voice (I don't miss...) is denying that his memories mean something, the older voice (step back you're crazy) has trouble finding meaning in anything other than memories. The song offers no conclusion as to what is more important. It is simply conflicting viewpoints, both knowing that they aren't completely right, but neither knowing how to change their mind. I guess the video then presents somewhat of a nostalgic memory and instead of stating anything, it is simply there to allow you to decide. How important are the memories?
Interesting question. My knee jerk reaction is about how art is as much about what the consumer receives as what the artist gives, so it means what you think it means... but as I thought about it more, I decided it might be worth analyzing. That takes too many characters, though, so I'm going to put it up in the description.
