Nantes-Beirut (cover)

So I saw Beirut in Milwaukee about a month ago. It was so amazing. My friend and I were front row, right next to Zach Condon. I had always liked this song, but something about hearing it live changed the way I felt about it. He does a lot of different things with his voice live than in the recorded version. So I just decided to cover it, since it's been in my head all week, and I guess I haven't really posted anything here in over a year... Sorry.

Sorry the sound quality is really crappy... I don't have a nice camera with filming capabilities, and something is going on with my laptop webcam... so that's the explanation for any weird buzzing sounds you hear. Also, I know I don't do this song any justice. Zach Condon is a majestic singing unicorn, and I would never be able to match his vocals. But, like I said, it has been quite a while since I've (seen you smile) posted anything. (See what I did there? ;))

Also, yeah, I cut off all of my hair last spring. It has been blonde, bright red, brownish, and now platinum. I know it's very different from all of my other videos... Get used to it. :)

Great cover! This is one of my favorite songs. I'm really glad they swapped the accordion for the keyboard line when doing it live, I think it sounds a lot better. Really hoping they come back to town again soon.
