@finnishgamer84 Oh yeah, same shit in Finland?? hahahahah FUCK THAT MAN, them people dont race over 1000 miles on sled dog teams.. In USA, we do the shit...

there are some unethical people out there who miss treat their teams but I've followed the race since I was 12 and most ranches, teams, sponsors and the race crew promote proper and ethical handling. I started out researching miss treatment of the animals and have become a complete fan of the sport. Thank goodness for the interwebs and my ability to see so much of it online until I can really be there in person. fight the abusers not the sport.

i am doing a project on the iditarod and the coolist part i am in alaska
Hey dont make out that this is cruel, the dogs love doing it! I went to Alaska last year and went to a husky ranch, the dogs that dont get to pull the sled howl because they are jealous of the ones doing it!

I agree. I've been on a few dog sleds and they just love to pull. The dogs are bred to pull, handle the cold and if you let them, would continue to pull to exhaustion and even death. They are unbelievably fit athletes and the Iditarod would be the equivalent of a human running 40 marathons back to back. The dogs are the real story of the Iditarod....Go doggies!!
