Playing Ability Test (PAT) level 1, drill 3, Follow drill.

Set up six balls, as shown. Cue ball in hand two diamonds away. Hit each ball into the close corner pocket, AND leave the cue ball in an area one diamond square near the pocket. It is ok, even preferred, to scratch the cue ball into the pocket. It is a foul to hit another ball. One point for pocketing the ball, one point for leaving the cue ball in the designated area (or scratching).

Do this set of 6 shots 3 times.

Video recorded on location at FastMikie's Fun House, Del Mar, CA.

  • PAT 1-4 is a draw drill. The setup is the same as 1-3, but the object is to draw the cue ball back to the head rail and keep it within the area from the head rail to the head string. I probably didn't post a video for it because it's not one of my better drills!!

  • What is the drill for PAT 1-4? It seems like it was skipped.
