Another Jaco inspired line, utilizing 16th notes and muted notes. I created this as an exercise for practicing string crossing and even 16th note playing. Another thing to note is that the thumb on my right hand shifts resting position as I play on the higher strings, this is a good way of muting unwanted low notes when playing on the D and G.

In the slow version I miss out a muted note at the end that is in the faster version. Just goes to show that playing your pieces slow and really dissecting them is important to fully understand what you're doing and why it works.

I'm now on http://playbassnow.com (thanks MarloweDK) go to Guest Teachers and find Casimer and other guest teachers there.

  • These videos are great man, is there a place you get the drum loop in the background from?

  • @turkishturkish Hi, thanks for the comment. The drum loop is built in to the Pandora PX5D, it's got a few decent drum loops in it.

  • Very nice groove and killer tone, man! Keep up the good work! What audio/video setup do you use for recording? I'd like to be able to get high quality videos to upload myself on the bass, but I've been using a regular point & shoot camera with its internal microphone...

  • @wxb200 Hi, I use a Logitech 9000 camera and I'm recording into an imac through a Korg Pandora PX5D. I then take the video and edit it in iMovie. Thanks for the comment!

  • Me he quedado impresionado, por qué usas fonos en los oidos ??

  • @RriverJJ Muchas Gracias. I'm using headphones because I'm recording direct into my mac through the Pandora PX5D processor. So the sound isn't amplified.
