That's a bit of a naive comment there. Not everybody in the 80's took to punk, and believe me, the 1980's were a major contraction to punk-ethics. Have a look at Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet and question this... do you really think those guys understood the Sex Pistols?
As for Mondo Rock, these guys had been playing around before the Sex Pistols even thought about music as an option.
There's a reason why you only [once] heard that much 80's music was inpsired by the punk movement.

They just don't have a bad song, and Ross Wilson, well the dancing, I love it.
Thank you for all these videos, its opened up a whole new realm of music for me. I've always enjoyed 80s music immensely but I've never got into the Australian/New Zealand stuff... I love it thank you.

@bmovieshowcase The 80s were definitely the halcyon days of Aussie music. In fact I would argue that from 80-87 the Aussie music scene was every bit as great at the US and UK. Mondo Rock, Split Enz (depsite being from NZ they had mainstream success once they moved to Sydney), INXS, Icehouse, John Farnham, Crowded House, Midnight Oil, Divinyls, Air Supply, Rick Springfield, Hoodoo Gurus etc
