I've heard this sung by many greats and I think this is the most beautiful rendition ever sung. The way he runs his notes and fades them so softly that you wonder if they will cut out altogether.

Una vocalità aerea e sognante,un fraseggio che dava significato ad ogni parola e l'assenza di forzature(quasi togliesse ai suoni la forza di gravità),consentivano a Schipa di cantare con la stessa facilità con cui parlava,rendendo bello un timbro che nel senso tradizionale bello non era,alla Gigli per intenderci.La smorzatura della chiusa finale di quest'aria è semplicemente da sogno.
