Niyamgiri is a hill range in Orissa, India that falls in the districts of Kalahandi and Rayagada. The biggest mountain in the range is Niyam Dongar and stands 4000 feet tall. It is also the sacred mountain of the Dongria Kond tribe who live only in the Niyamgiri hills. The word Dongria means hill dweller and this 10,000 people strong community worships the mountain as the seat of their supreme deity Niyam Raja. The Dongria are also knows as Jharnia meaning stream side dwellers as every Dongria village is located besides hundreds of perennial streams flowing from the hilltops. The Niyamgiri hills are well forested and the Dongria have preserved hundreds of hectares of pristine primary forest atop Niyam Dongar as they consider it sacred. This forest is home to many unique endagered species and is regarded as eco hot spot. This is a preview of a documentary film on the people's movement to save Niyamgiri Hills from bauxite mining in Orissa.

Friends,
wonderful that you are making this film about such an important subject. It has international interest now. May I suggest that you make a second version of this preview, explaining the whole issue (perhaps with a voiceover?)clearly. I will happily do my best to spread the message.
