what did you expect....

Just wondering what did you expect from Congress???....to actually do the responsible thing and not raise the debt limit.

I hoped they would not do it but it looks like they will cave in and put us further into debt.

Now I don't read everything I can by all the doomsayers and I don't watch every video on youtube about the coming collapse. If it happens it happens but I not worried about it.

It will be interesting to see if one of my US senators, who pledged to vote against raising the debt limit, will still vote no. The other senator is a balless Democrat who wouldn't know how to controll spending if he had to. We are screwed. I would like to see the posibility of the states calling for a continential congress, to forcefully take control of the various issues coming up in congress. The only way to have change now, is with force. This would be our best legal method.

@wakeupbreathing continental congress--forcefull, but legal. That would certainly wake up all in Washington, if they saw their control slipping away by the only legal way left. They aren't going to do the right thing ever.

The solution to the debt is to get the price of oil under control. Once you have done that you can begin to have an actual budget. Next is getting the price of money under control. You have to do both at the same time because either fuel costs will blow your system out or the fluctuating money value will. The price of oil can be brought under control with a MNR lease fleet owned by our federal gov and built by GE. The money supply needs a fractional reserve peg requirement and gaap/tax reform.

@wakeupbreathing You make a good point. Even though, by some standards, people think their representative is ok, and the rest are bad, basically they are all useless in one way or the other. The "one" party system--the republicrats, have a lock on the entire system, and they will never give up that power without force. I would love to just hear one state call for a continential congress. But---we are all screwed. That's the long and short of it.
