GUYS HERES A TIP
WHEN YOU ARE LAYING THE BALLAST POUR IT IN TO A WATER BOTTLE WITH THE TOP CUT OFF
THEN GENTLY POUR THE BALLAST ONTO THE TRACK AND USE A BRUSH TO NEATEN THINGS UP A BIT AND THEN SPRAY WATER WITH A COUPLE CAPS FULL OF ALCOHOL
THEN USE A 50/50 GLUE-WATER MIX
THE WATERED BALLAST WILL LET THE GLUE SEEP INTO ALL AREAS OF THE BALLAST
THEN YOU WILL HAVE PERFECT BALLAST
IT WORKS EVERY TIME

when i did ballast in my railway the locomotives used to grase against it
why is this so

@jmsschooner it might be that when you glued the ballest down some of it stuck to the side of the rails? if so all you need to do is go along the side of the rails with a small screw driver that may solve your problem. hope this helps

i bought the ballest from my local model shop. i think the ballest was fine its hard to remember as i got rid of the layout about a year ago.
