Chairman of the Board restricts town resident Mr. Brownfield to only 10 minutes to discuss (1) Denial of Right to Know information, (2) Freedom of Speech, (3) A new petition to revalue the Town of Atkinson signed by more than 150 taxpayers. Chair refuses to allow Mr. Brownfield to appear again before the Board to discuss Items (2) and (3). Brownfield's Freedom of Speech to discuss Freedom of Speech is denied.
Town Government cries "FOUL" when caught denying, refusing, and illegally withholding - Right to Know Information. This is a clear case of Selectmen "trying to put a shine on a sneaker" before being held accountable to a higher authority. Chairman of the Board Paul Sullivan at the Selectmen's Meeting on 5/5/2008 restricts town resident Mr. Brownfield to only 10 minutes to discuss (1) DENIAL OF RIGHT TO KNOW INFORMATION, (2) Freedom of Speech, (3) A new petition to revalue the Town of Atkinson

I agree that something is being suppressed by the Atkinson Board of Selectmen. Your energy and devotion to the right to know law, as well as doggedly keeping "at it" must be difficult at best and you are to be highly regarded by all for this effort. The video is relevant to all of us, in every state, every city, town and village. It is a civics lesson. It is a proof that "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" (Ben Franklin is credited with that one). --Al

I was appalled at the smugness and callous approach to your presentation. His demeanor from start to finish was that of a dictator, and not a benevolent one either. You were straightforward, not accusing, just questioning and apparently they are not doing their job or they are hiding something. Your next step should be a subpoena and to present that subpoena in a symbolic nature! Karen
