Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs interviews Vernon Hill, Wharton 1967 alumnus and founder of retail banking sensation Commerce Bank, where he applied the customer-focused strategy of other retail franchises like McDonald's to the banking sector and created a brand with a strong fanbase. After selling Commerce, Hill has moved on to create the model again, this time opening Metro Bank, the first new bank in the UK since the pre-Victorian days.
