Haha, that is not what the song is about. That is just allegorical. It is about that first sleep after the loss of a loved one by a child, or any other human actually, when they wake to the world and think you've had a horrible dream, only to realize it isn't a dream. It is about knowing which is which, the dream or the reality, and the ability to escape to a safe place where their loved ones are still there...

I figured it was a combination of the both. Using lucid dreaming to help with the loss of a loved one

Seen them live in Phoenix,AZ in 2009. Heard this song first time in the 80's.
