Lemme get this straight. We shoot the wolves to save the moose so we can kill the moose?
I'd say Mother Nature has a lot better record on wildlife population control than we do. Kinda reminds me of how they used to shoot buffalo from trains back in the 19th century, except they didn't have to bring in a left front foreleg for $150 like in Alaska. They just let 'em lie there.
