(2) 15 years later he made another book entitled "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth Extracted Textually from the Gospels in Greek, Latin, French, & English". He never meant for this book to be published, only for personal use. His family came across it after his death and it was made public in 1895. It was given out to newly elected members of Congress so that they can be instructed on good morality. This book today is what is known as the "Jefferson Bible".

(1) People get confused about the "Jefferson Bible". There was two of them as Barton stated in the video. The first one was entitled "The Philosophy of Jesus of Nazareth Extracted from the account of his life and doctrines as given by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Being an abridgment of the New Testament for the use of the Indians unembarrassed with matters of fact or faith beyond the level of their comprehension." This particular book was never seen by anyone other than Jefferson himself.
