Scirea e Zoff - Italy & Juve

Dino Zoff joined Juventus in 1972. Gaetano Scirea did so in 1974.
For many years, the great goalkeeper and the great libero were best friends. They shared the same room on retreats, share the same quiet and peaceful character which empowered the great Juventus and Italy teams of the 70ies and the early 80ies with trust and high confidence essential in a victorious mentality.

Scirea died in a sad car accident in 1989. He had retired from playing for Juventus one year ago, and was Zoff's assistant coach at the club. He was looked at as the future coach for Juve with many successes to come based on his calmness and quiet work.

The gentleman (and gentle man) of calcio is no more. But he remains in the heart of all those that new and appreciated him. Ciao Gai! And thank you Dino for reminding us of him and being a caring friend for his family.
