  • i put my thumb over the neck when im playing avenged sevenfold solos. probably because thats wat synyster gates does.

  • @adstr123 no offence bro see joe satriani....................if u havent try this then do try it it is really effective it will help in long stretches hammer on nd pull ofs..................nd u will play faster nd smoother cause by playing this way fingers travel a lesser distance.........

  • sorry to mention but at the begining you thumb was up lol

  • you weaken your fulcrum when you fix the thumb. the back of the neck is curved for a reason. you should be able to pivot off the neck.

  • @Fr0t3x You won't be able to stretch your index finger up frets without classical position.

  • woooow. You hawe VERY long fingers. Heh.

  • GO LEAFS!

  • Is that an ES-345?

  • I don't think I've seen a single guitarist play with their thumb directly behind the fretboard... they play them with the thumb slightly high up. But otherwise great lesson again :D

  • @bajspackare93

Most of pop/rock artists don't use proper instrumental/singing techniques and most of them are unab to read a music score... what is showed here is the perfect fingernig (as learned when you have a classical music formation) which allows you to do everything you want with maximum fluidity. Then, that doesn't mean that it's the only way to play...
