it's called being inspired by someone, and I believe bob was just like everybody else, listening to records, digging someone's picking pattern or voice, trying to sound like him or her. eventually, he'd find his very own unique sound, but naturally he had his idols, too!

Bob was more inspired by Jack than the other way around. Jack just wasn't ever as famous. I love them both but I'll take Jack over Bob anyday of the week.

thanks for that info. Maybe that's why guitars (from Spain) and banjos (Africa) are part of the cowboy culture - and I'm guessing.

Truth be told, the original ''cowboys'' were Mexicans and African Americans. They did the bull work for the land owners who were the English Americans.
