Kudos to FreeDrumLessons for providing a fun as hell play along track to jam to.
http://www.FreeDrumLessons.com

I recorded this as a sound check (after many sound checks prior), and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my mics/mixer. I found out a few days later, but I decided to put this up, since it was a fun recording. Not trying to show off my skills, like I said, it was only a fun little soundcheck jam.

No I am not trying to compete/be better than/replicate Jared Falk's interpretation of this play along track.

  • Great groove - what kind of ride are you using...sounds nice. thanks.

  • @annusmirabilis2011 Thank you: it's a 22" Saluda Mist Big Bell Ride

  • Hi there! Nice groove! :)

Could you please tell me how big is the LP Low Blast Block (green)? How does it compare to a standard cowbell?

  • @KonstantinUb Thank you! Well the LP Low Blast Block (when played sideways, like in this video) has a ton of attack for a block, whereas with the Jam Blocks (the red/blue ones) just make that "glock" sound. Blocks tend to have less resonance than a cowbell, as they are made of plastic, and cowbells are made of metal. Go to your local music store, I'm sure you could try them out!

  • What are you using to mount all your percussion blocks?

  • I use two Gibraltar SC AM1 mounts.
