Rust, expansion, precise fit, all play a role in brake wear and performance.

  • I just change my brake on 03 ecsalade, now the brakes are squealing. This was my first time changing brakes on my own. Now they are squealing and thats not cute, please HELP!!!!!!

  • @Mzchynaray16 -- sometime new brakes do that because of contaminants on the new parts. This can range from grease to silicon etc... brakes must be clean during installation. The chemicals can burn off during use and cause hard spots leading to squealing. Some brakes require a 'burnishing' process, involving succesively harder stops to 'break in' new brake material. If you are in doubt go see a pro, or start over and discover the problem. It's cheap entertainment :)

  • Can you tell why my brakes pull to one side when I apply them

  • @windhammer357

As a means of giving an example of brake related "pull", you could have a siezed caliper, or the pads themselves could be seized into thier guides, or you could have a collapesed flex line/kinked brake line. So many causes in fact, I suggest you let a pro inspect for a real diagnosis.

  • thank you man. i try to do some stuff on my car myself and i have changed my front rotors and pads 2 times allready. lately i am noticing that my steering wheel shakes when i apply the brake, on high speed like above 60. what can be the problem? and can u do some video on it as well plz. thanks and good luck

  • @nbayarmagnai -Late reply I know, but for the sake of answering: Shaking in the wheel with the associated vibration of the brake pedal indicates front rotor warpage. Vibration in the pedal without sterrwheel shake indicitive of rear rotor/drum warpage. If the rear brakes are bad enough though it will shake the whole damn vehicle. Check them. For the front, ensure quality rotors and NO RUST on the hub. uneven surfaces cause runout. :)

  • i was looking to fix disc brakes on a bike but this video is so interesting lol

  • @irszgatti yeah i know, i actually got the vizegrip for some other stuff but the torch tip is really too much

  • @drippinblood28 - the torch is basically a mini-barbeque propane cylinder with a "torch tip". ask at the hardware store. Vice-grips are 10.00 dollars at the hardware store.

  • thanks a lot for a very refine tutorial. regards.

  • Hello, very nice and well explained video. I have a question my cars' front right caliper makes a weird noise like something is loose and stops doing it when I apply the brakes. I've checked it and it seems like the piston contracts too much after applying the brakes. When pressure is released the piston goes back too much and the caliper moves loose. why is this caused?
