you can trigger samples in sp-404 from mpc (mpc midi out - sp midi in).

I think about to buy an sp-404 too. Do you know if it is possible to use the rm1x to control the effects on the sp-404 via midi? I mean the midi CC stuff like filters, cutoff, volume etc...

afaik no, but you can control velocity of samples via rm1x :)
