  • wow my mind just fucking exploded.

Gorod is tight, technical, and chill as fuck.

They are in the same ranking as Necrophagist in my opinion.

    They may even be better.

But if one things for sure they deserve more respect.

  • @6lackMetal6o6

What is it with Necrophagist, that every band fitting the genre description gets compared with them?

  • @PunksDeadEmoK1dsN3xt

No idea. Maybe it just works as a template?

Either way they both kick ass.

  • @6lackMetal6o6

    I understand, sort of..

Check out Gory Blister, Pitbulls in the Nursery and Trepalium, maybe you like the sound. Not 8-bit, but still ;)

  • @PunksDeadEmoK1dsN3xt

Cmon you cant mean to tell me that you dont like to hear these songs remade to 8bit.

and ive heard of all them. Gory Blister is awesome(my favorite of what was listed), but i still think that these guys are better.

  • @6lackMetal6o6

  • @sharparrowhead if you've never heard sceptic, i would suggest you check them out, they do what i personallly tihnk is the best job at attaining a modern yet classic tech death sound, so you can easily draw comparisons. and yeah, if you listen to "pierced from within" by the way man, that's MADD fucking technical. also, i just so you know, i'm not hatin on necrophagist cause they are in . just saying they're not one of the first tech death ban

  • @sharparrowhead yeah, but that's where tech death is basically derived from, jazzy riffing, obviously transcribed in a more "metal" fashion. if you listen to shit like gorod, psycroptic, necrophagist, and obscura, you'll be able to hear how much they basically worship albums like focus, individual thought patterns and human, and unquestionable presence and what not. they're definitely considered "tech death". they're just not similar to today's standards of tech death.

  • @yamanick92 yeah but none of those bands are tech death in today's terms. Only death's last album can be considered tech death. Even cynic stopped playing tech death and they started out as thrash just like Death. Cynic only wrote like one tech death album even then it was just death metal infused with jazz and other influences. Atheist is the same, death with some jazz. suffocation is more brutal than technical. Lastly Necrophagist released a pure tech death album. one of the best.

  • @sharparrowhead i don't know if you're aware, but death, atheist, cynic, suffocation, and pestilence were around in the 90's...

  • The riff at 2:53 makes me think of Trepalium :-)

  • Love this album!

  • fucking gorod man .. keeping old school death metal alive even with their new age infusions

  • This is amazing and I love it.

  • @sharparrowhead honestly back in the 80s and 90s the genre "Tech death" was not even a genre yet , but beleive you me... there were pleanty of "Tech death" bands back then

  • @PunksDeadEmoK1dsN3xt Necrophagist are the gods of tech death. Why? They were one of the first, and one of the best. Plain and simple. They are basically the template for most tech death. Also the fact that Muhammad did all of that at a young age.
