@Nickman5000 well thats sort of what he´s talking about. If u put effort and heart into your music and really put effort into playing is often considered punk even though you might play pop hiphop or metal

There is so much decently well known good music around these days, from Radiohead to John Frusciante's solo records, from Sigur Ros to Archive or Tool and many others. And billions of great underground records from punk to trip hop. Stay away from the charts and its fine.

I love Henry Rollins, but he too often talks like Hardcore Punk was the only music that ever existed! He seems to overlook bands like Pink Floyd and The Beatles how were even more innovative then punk bands ever will be and they to had to sweat it out in dingy clubs to start off with...
