  • ah religion, giving people hope in a world torn apart by...religion!

  • haha, very interesting way of thinking.

  • Great topic. To be fair priests and preachers usually hold degrees from seminary. Organized religion needs a leader or it wouldn't be organized. Then again the Mormon church allows anyone to get up and talk. They do not have a specific leader. Except for the prophet.

  • Thank you :). You do have a good point that a lot of leaders of organized religions do hold higher education. Though as we see in doctors, the degree doesn't mean every doctor will agree on a diagnoses on a single person. In any large congregation you'll find many different opinions of god that differ from the leader. Which is why i believe an open discussion church is more beneficial to the church. It could even help adjust the leaders ideas and thoughts of their god. Thank for watching!! :)

  • I read a study recently that said only 1% of Americans think about metaphysical concepts, such as an afterlife, on a daily basis. While I agree with you completely, the truth is that people go to church to be told what to do and to believe. They want someone to have the answers.

  • Very good point. Humans have dominate and passive personalities. Though if you give the passive people the opportunity to lead, and give them a voice even in a small group, aside from personal gain (builds more confidence in a person, if they decide to speak up), the group also gets a different side/point of view from the leader.

  • This sadly seems very true through out history. It appears that when religion had more backing then it does today you never questioned it for fear of being killed...today we question it and see many flaws. Which has its +/- since most religions do have some good teaching (morally) but this of course a moral story doesn't make '3 Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf', or 'Little Red Riding Hood' stories true..

  • To each their own is what I believe, I couldn't believe in atheism, but I can't believe that any leader is the "1" that knows everything about a the spiritual realm. Thanks for watching! :D

  • Very good point :). Thanks :)

  • Religion is based on dogma. To remove absolute power from clergy would decimate most religions. Hey! I think you're on to something here
