  • I'm going to be blending this pedal with my Strymon El Capistan , and I personally cannot wait for the creamy ass tones that I will be able to accomplish by running both of those beauties! I will be running the memory boy deluxe as my overall delay, and the El Cap as a very heavy tape aged/flutter ambient delay. Thanks for the video, man.

  • @05ampeg This is a bit lo-fi, but perfect for reverb-y tones, with the additional plus of the tap tempo and the other features... You might find this to be your go-to lo-fi delay, and the Capistan for more hi-fi tones...

  • I really think this pedal is way underrated. I've tried many other more expensive delays, including the Diamond Memory Lane 2, and between all the features (tap tempo, modulation, tap divide, gain, expression pedal, etc), and the price ($180), for an analog delay, this thing cannot be beat.

  • @dren68 Let's see what happens when the new Deluxe Memory Man with tap tempo comes out... it's identical to this one, but (supposedly) with better components.

  • Wow gearwire sure stepped up. This is actually a great demo.

  • @Ilovemyfender2 I miss the homeless guy trying out a tubescreamer playing major scales on an out-of-tune Rickenbacker and a JCM800...

  • Had the DMB for a few months now and it's amazing! The possibilities are endless. Great demo. I knew about the tap divide sequence mode but not the hpf mode. :O Can't wait to mess around with that now aswell!

I put a cheap phaser and a micro pog in the fx loop before seeing this vid. Great minds ey. ;)

  • hmmm the DMB seems a little more soncially adventurous then the Stereo Memory Man with the Haz.

am i right or are these demos not enough to judge?

  • @chainlightning58 Hello! The Dlx. Memory Boy is a very nice analog delay with tap tempo, but honestly I would buy it only if I really needed an analog pedal with tap tempo with the option for many crazy sounds and extreme tweakability. It's a good thing to have and it's very inspiring for music making, but if you don't have the real estate on your pedalboard or if you just need a basic very good delay at a good price without bells and whistles, then the Carbon Copy is excellent.

  • @bloodySunday77 So at this moment, I'm using a Danelectro Dan-Echo pedal for my delay and am looking for a decent upgrade. I know you didn't make this video, but I have been looking for an opinion. Given that I can't afford a Deluxe Memory Man and don't have room for it, would you recommend the Deluxe Memory Boy or an MXR Carbon Copy? Most people seem to be biased toward the Carbon Copy and say that it has a warmer tone (which is what I'm looking for). What do you think?
