@Madlax99 Well, when you consider that no one (even some of the gas company employees) knew that the pipeline was there, their assumption is more reasonable. A large jetliner is the only thing that firefighters could think of that was capable of causing that massive of a fire within a residential neighborhood. It's only after the fire continued to fiercely burn, that they realized that they had a much larger problem on their hands.

I'm still so amazed how this event was thought as a plane crash at first.

To bad they didn't have this back in 1991 when the Oakland Hills Fire happened or the 1989 Earthquake

Talk about skill and talent under pressure. They responded and assessed this so quickly and then provided rescue. There seemed to be no wasted communications. Brilliant.

Listened to the dispatch and command structure being set up. Sounded perfect to me.
Command, divisions, staging, Medical etc. Well done men. Tough job, no water and a ton of homes to evacuate and then recheck. Water tenders are a good thing...
