  • Yo, you need to fix the artist. It's anonymous. Label properly.

  • @lolatyoulol you're right. You are a singer?

  • lovely rendition, but this is NOT the setting by Sullivan, it is much older and I think by an anonymous composer

  • @fiordiligicymraeg yes you're right.

  • This is gorgeous (but my heart belongs to the one we sung in choir by Vaughan Williams (Laudibus and Mike brewer album) :-)

  • So lovely.

    Aled

  • Beautiful song, but the style is clearly NOT Sir Arthur Sullivan's, and the words (in case nobody was comparing the audio with the written poem) are not Shakespeare's. These are words and music by that most prolific of songwriters: Anonymous. The Willow Song is thought to date from the early 17th century, which means it would have "greatest hits of 16 _ _" status when Shakespeare quoted it (changing the gender and a few other details) in Othello.

  • thiss kind of music is soooo relaxing

  • This is the version the Young Shakespeare Players is doing in our production of Othello. And I'm Desdemona in my cast (which makes me SO incredibly happy, as Desi is my favorite Shakespeare heroine, tied with Katharine), which means that I'm overwhelmed by hearing this. Of course, we don't have to sing it operatically like this, but I'm NOT a singer, so I'm kind of nervous :/

  • this is the most beautiful version of this song i've heard yet

what are the lyrics to this version?

they don't seem to match the ones in the description

i'd write it down myself but i can't understand evey word she's singing :P

  • sing willow willow willow!
