Rats exposed to pesticides developed pre-diabetes. They also gained excessive weight when fed a high fat diet.

Humans exposed to pesticides have shown increased risk of diabetes.

Organophosphates disrupt proper liver cell function in rats and result in excess glucose and fats in the blood. This situation can lead to excess insulin. This fits the pre-diabetes profile.
