The forward energy of Hsing-Yi walking is exceptional. It's also an explosive step that can sidestep and traverse a large distance with panther power! Here is the basic step as well as demonstration of stepping while doing each of the five elements. (Hsing-Yi is five elements and 12 animals). I trained this style for years under Master Bob Cook. tom@thejong.com

  • Thank you Sifu Tom! That's one of the best explanation of Xing Yi/Hsing I I've ever seen! The linking to Wing Chun was great as well. Please more Xing Yi sir? Do you Bagua as well? Xie Xie!

  • Might be nice to do a few of the animals, maybe more! -Laughs- I DID do a quick version of the chicken. It's actually a great and useful movement though quite funny.

Yes I also do Pa kua will prolly get around to some of the walking and changes at some point. It's all quite dear to me. And one day I'll do the Kwan Ping Chen style of Tai Chi Chuan from kuo Lin Ying.

    Thanks!

  • Indeed. Now will be a flurry of peeps who think the great legs extends to application ability. While it is a formidable art it is the actual verifyible physics of VT that rules the day.
