Wow, it's been 9 months since the last comment on this song? Well I guess that means I have to write something.

I recently realized the meaning of this song. Owen Pallett, obviously by the name of his project and some of his songs, is a video game and fantasy nerd. You can think of as a love song for Link of The Legend of Zelda. Owen is homosexual, so romantic love of the male protagonists of his own favorite games and novels is possible. They're his only friends that don't betray him, and they help him in times of need, though he despairs at their inability to truly love him back. It's beautiful.
