AWESOME!!! My future wife and I want to set one of these up when we get some land in the country. My goal is to be able to live off the land 100% even in the winter. I also wish to make my own solar panels to save on energy costs. Especially with the way the economy is going these days.

@TheMontanahouse What size pipe did you use in the actual growbed? Was it 1.25 inch or 1.5 inch?

@Living4fishing which tubs? The growbeds or fish tanks?

Why do you have the irrigation pipe around the perimeter of the growbed? If you just had a pipe filling the growbed at any single point, wouldn't the water fill the entire bed evenly? It just seems like the extra pipe in the growbed is a unnecessary. Am I overlooking something?

@TheMontanahouse The irrigation pipe allows solid matter to be spread around the perimeter of the bed. all solids being pumped into the one spot can cause build up.

I was just wondering could Permaculture and Aquaponics be in anyway compatible.

@pommyrooter Very much so. if you visit permaculture research institutes website and search the forums for aquaponics you will find lots of interesting discussions.
