[The Rob Strat] Demo - now with english translation

La demo è stata registrata con una fotocamera Panasonic Lumix, un modello che ha 5 anni almeno, non proprio il massimo, me rende l'idea. L'amplificatore è un Traynor ycv40 40 watt valvolare combo, cono 12" Celestion Vintage 30. La chitarra è una stratocaster assemblata, corpo in ontano, manico in acero 22 tasti 6105, compound radius 9,5"-13,75", capotasto TUSQ in grafite, meccaniche Sperzel Trim-Lock, ponte Wilkinson VSVG a 6 viti, pickup set Lindy Fralin Blues Special (comprati dagli USA), ottimo acquisto. Ora ho capito perchè questi pickup non si trovano usati :D Non ultime, corde Ernie Ball 0.10-0.46. Guardate le manopole, fanno la loro figura! Rob the Robot strikes back.

The demo was recorded with a Panasonic Lumix camera, quite old model, not the best recording tool, but you get the idea. The amplifier is a 40 watts class A all-tube combo amp, a Traynor YCV40, with a Celestion Vintage 30 12" speaker. The guitar is an assembled stratocaster, alder body, maple modern C shape neck (a bit fatter than american standards), 22 6105 frets, narrow and tall, compound radius from 9.5" to 13.75", Black TUSQ nut, Sperzel Trim-Lock machine heads, Wilkinson VSVG 6 pivots tremolo bridge, pickup set Lindy Fralin Blues Special, great deal. Now I know why these pickup are so rare in the second-hand market :D Last but not least, Ernie Ball 0.10-0.46. Look at the coloured knobs! Rob the Robot strikes back!

A me quello che non ha mai convinto dei tremolo a 6 viti è il ritorno in pitch, anche senza un uso eccessivo della leva. Curioso infine che AT usi un 6 viti come fosse un 2 viti...

@dmbr1s A me non ha mai dato problemi di ritorno in pitch, ma quello dipende dalla qualità. Certo, i 6 viti sono propensi a non ritornare perfettamente in pitch, eppure se la qualità è buona come il VSVG non ci sono problemi, te l'assicuro. Io ho anche capotasto Graphtech in grafite, per evitare frizioni. Conto di montare un Hipshot Tremsetter entro breve, è una meraviglia!

Posso chiederti come va il VSVG? Ho avuto mille problemi con sti ponti a 6 viti (sopratutto gotoh 101) che sono li li per abbandonarli per sempre...

@dmbr1s Ho provato soltanto 4-5 ponti a 6 viti molto economici e un Fender vero e comunque preferisco il VSVG senza dubbio. Per essere un 6 viti ha anche una buona escursione e tiene benissimo, nessun problema! Basta pensare che costa circa il doppio di un Gotoh, con tutto il rispetto. Il blocco in acciaio è stabilissimo e le sellette sono solide. Gente come Andy Timmons gli lascia anche solo le due viti ai lati, per avere ancora pù escursione. Io mi ci trovo magnificamente.
