If John had worked on this demo big time in a studio and called it, America America, we would be still playing it today.

Someone's probably mentioned it before but this definitely show a strong Nilsson (Harry that is) influence. Its sometimes the other way around. RIP John and Harry

This was going to be a song about Tennessee Williams, which John started to put together circa 1976. He later took much of the chords, wrote new lyrics and turned it into Watching The Wheels.
