Eric Johnson - Promised Man [Guitar Masters Tour]

Last night here in Milwaukee, Eric Johnson, Andy McKee, and Pippino D'Agostino kicked off the Guitar Masters tour. As you can imagine, it was superb. I recorded several songs by Eric, but only two of them had video. I was attempting to line up the shot before the song and then close the camera so the LCD screen didn't bother others in the audience.

After each of the three guitarists had a set, they played 3 collaborative pieces which were stellar. It was like an acoustic G3, except the collaborative songs made you want to leap for joy instead of jam steel picks in your ears. If you get a chance to see a show on this tour, do it!

Particularly good was Andy's new song with his harp guitar titled "Away." Eric played a couple of piano songs as well which were terrific. I got to shake their hands after the show and they all signed my ticket. I let them know they needed a fourth song to use as an encore, so hopefully future legs of the tour will have an encore.

Thanks for uploading! I'm hoping to see this tour in Napa in January. Can you tell me which camera you used? The low-light quality and most of all the sound quality is quite amazing.

I used a Canon Vixia HX100 - the low-light performance is not great, but with the stage lighting there it did a nice job.

@theguitartheif I was there too! So glad he performed this, but the mixing of his mic overpowered the guitar. I couldn't hear much of the playing. But I can come here and listen to this version anytime. :)

Thanks man! Great sound and video quality. Do you have more videos of the concert? I saw the guitar masters on Houston, I hope they release a dvd of the tour or a cd.
