Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have gone to great lengths to avoid buttonholes including camoflauging snaps with buttons just sewn on top. I can't believe how easy this seems, I can't wait to tryi it.

@MrPitseleh I think that some people don't have an easy time following written directions and find it easier to watch something being done to learn it.
One of the things that makes sewing, cooking, and laboratory work easier for me than many is that I handle written instructions pretty well.

thank you, this really helped me with my textiles homework and I finally understand how to do it!! :-)

Thank you so much for this! The instructions in my machine's guide were terrible, so this really helped me out!

Thank you! Really clear so that even I can do it!

@sewmarm i second that. but only an industrial machine can do the buttonhole properly. if you want cheap buttonholes, i am very sure any dealers would happily sell you their Reece S2 for around $200

Thank you so much. I have a similar singer sewing machine and I always wondered what those symbols stood for lol. I can't wait to try this on my own =)

Well of course, that's a commercial buttonhole machine! I would love to have one of those around, but I doubt the investment would pay off on the amount of home sewing buttonholes I have to do. If someone is planning a sewing business, it would be worth it.

I have a video on that, too! Look at the channel listings.

That was great. The only question is how do you measure the button without making the hole too large?

@enderpug6699
I use my tape measure and just measure it. Then I mark the material with tailor's chalk like in patterns: two big lines for where to end each end, and a line connecting them for the button hole. Hope that helps.
