Land Rover off road - Abingdon 4x4 Festival 2008

Excerpts of a driver's eye view of the www.abingdon4x4festival.com 4 mile course. Uninterrupted there's half an hour of varied driving, in practice it takes about an hour to drive. It's a brilliantly organised course with water hazards, camel humps and cross-axle sections. The marshals are helpful and friendly - and for £15 (which is donated to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust www.tvacaa.org) I had a couple of runs round the course.

Could you tell me what mount you have on your camcorder, good to SEE the video rather than all the blurring from the camera bouncing all over the place. Cheers Rob.

Cheers Rob! Its a compact alloy triple suction mount, stuck to the inside of the windscreen.  Google "fast films Compact Alloy Triple Suction Mount" - its the 4th down the page.

Cars need to be road legal and are scrutineered before driving the course.

Great that the 4x4 community gets together to have fun, but a shame that there is not more paces in the UK to get the fourbies muddy without the greenies whinging. Since moving to Australia 18 months ago, we have just touched on the endless 1000's of kms of dirt roads and forest tracks, desserts and mud holes that are open to 4wds. Many are even advertised as '4wd ONLY'!

Land Rover is obviously strong in UK, but here in Aus Toyota rule.
