video says most. I've never had this 'folder questionmark' shit before. and when your broke, there's not much you can do to fix it. oh and by the way, the warranty is voided on my mac, and I don't have AppleCare. if I have to I'll reinstall os x. whatever it takes for my mac to not have that symbol again. once again thank you for watching and please reply. :)
folder+questionmark=mac cannot find system folder/boot drive

UPDATE::
ok guys, the so called 'questionmark of death' has nothing to do with hard drives. it means something fucked up the system folder. which macintosh is usually very stable, so this would happen less frequently than the hard drive dying. but dont tell people that its a hard drive problem. they might be spending $100 for nothing. even though, its nice to have input from people about this, so i thank you.

  • funny this happened to me,so I'm usin my iPhone until my Mac is fixed

  • Easy just go to a apple store wherever you live and ask Mac-Professional ask him I'd like to buy MacOS X lion or unscrew your head (just joking) just unscrew under your iBook or Mac and replace the hard drive trust me this works I've been through the same thing but I fixed it

    P.S don't over heat your hard drive

  • @MrAntrikot If you reinstall software, do you lose all your data? Is it like "reformatting" on a pc?

  • I've read a ton about this. Typically, it's the hard drive that's about to fail that causes this.

  • Same problem here. Have checked the HD and it'd not the problem. I tjink it might be the ram but not sure...

  • Hey guys, i have a similar problem. I have a imac 8,1 with 3 years old, this couple of months he's running slower than habitual, so i start to backup all i have, but more recente when i tried to restart when he crashs, the same happens to me (the folder with the question mark), so i install the system and still appear the "sign" when i restart the computer. Any ideas?? It's from the hard drive?? If i buy a new disk the problems will be solved??

    Cheers

  • @MrAntrikot how do you do that please tell me

  • Fag
