  • This such a dreamy song Bob - thanks again for posting the best :)

  • @GeminiNightOwl I am glad to see you are enjoying the posts.

  • I have become a fan of Al Bowlly just last week. He's just fantastic. So is Ray Noble's orchestra. I want to promote other singers of this era: the Italians Carlo Buti and Daniele Serra. These three make an extraordinary music collection! ;-)

  • I like Ray and Al too and have a number of their recordings. Thanks for stopping by.

  • This is pure romance as good as only Bowlly and Noble could do. I like very much the photos!

  • You are so right my friend. These two were one of those magic combination's and though it was for just a short time they left us an exquisite output.

  • Heard snippets of this version in the Dutch WW2 movie Solder of Orange and

had to track it down. Yup, this is the one. Excellent.

  • Thank you, this is the version I remember hearing at an Aunt's house when I was a little girl.

  • There's something so fascinating about Mr Bowlly's voice. He has that weird, posh-cockney classless twang you never hear anymore, mixed with a faux-American accent and presumably a bit of a Maltese accent too. Very easy on the ear.

  • I use to listen to this song on a 78 record w/a victrola

  • It is always a treat to hear Al Bowlly, my parents brought me up with musicof this era,

romantic, easy to listen to, harkens back to a time of elagance and style, what more can I say. gage

  • I heard this from Bing in the 50's.
