Yes, early I know, but everyone else seems to be, so it doesn't matter!

Re-release of my video for Christmas 2008, and hope many more will enjoy it this time.
Love and peace to everyone, s you enjoy this classic, written by the great Mike Batt and performed by David Essex.

"The nights are colder now.
maybe I should close the door,
And anyway the snow has
covered all your footsteps
And I can follow you no more.
The fire still burns at night,
my memories are warm and clear;
but everybody knows
it's hard to be alone at this time of year.
It was only a winter's tale,
Just another winter's tale,
And why should the world take notice
of one more love that's failed?
It's a love that can never be
though it meant a lot to you and me;
on a world~wide scale
we're just another winter's tale
While I stand alone
A bell is ringing far away
I wonder if you hear,
I wonder if you're listening
I wonder where you are today.
Good luck! I wish you well,
and for all that wishes may be worth;
I hope that love and strength
are with you for the length
of your time on earth.
It was only a winter's tale,
Just another winter's tale,
And why should the world take notice
of one more love that's failed?
It's a love that can never be
though it meant a lot to you and me;
on a world~wide scale
we're just another winter's tale.
It was only a winter's tale,
Just another winter's tale,
And why should the world take notice
of one more love that's failed?
It's a love that can never be
though it meant a lot to you and me;
on a world~wide scale
we're just another winter's tale."

  • About a week ago I was trying to think of this song. The only words I remembered were 'snow' and 'footsteps'. Used to sing this in primary school! :') Now 17 years old, found it again! ♥♥♥

  • @ZoeCooper94 Hey Zoe, so pleased you enjoyed it.. Merry Christmas!

  • Nostalgic memories of years gone by.

  • I have always loved this song. David has a lovely voice. I want to dedicate this song to my soon to be x-husband. Its a shame things havn't worked out after being married for 18 years and knowing each other most of our adult lives. There are some things in life we have no control over and I know we have both tried. I wish him well for the future.
