BSGN salutes the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory of James Finch's Phoenix Racing team with a look back at some of the #51/#09 team's strongest performances. Since I don't have many clips of Finch's Cup team from 1990 through 1996, I decided to narrow the video to events from 2001 through today.

Have you noticed all or most of their success has come on superspeedways? Good vid, I didn't know about Mike Wallace doing so well at Richmond in '04.

James finch is a good owner I dont know if i could field car after my driver was killed in the car ... People complain about start and parks 04 they were were barely getting 43 at the track they called them field fillers atleast they are sending cars home every week ...

if mike wallace had a legit cup series ride, i strongly believe that he could have been a contender for wins. I mean, look at what he did when he drove the 12 car for Penske in 2001. One of the best drivers out there at the end of the season. Shame to see such a great driver never really get the break he deserved.

Jeff Purvis was one of and still is one of my favorite drivers!!!

Excellent! Purvis was a very underappreciated restrictor plate driver. He made all 4 plate races with Finch in 2001 and I recall he did well in the #51 in the 1994 Pepsi 400 at Daytona before getting caught up in a late wreck.
