The rock anthem "Night Time" starts off with a drumbeat reminiscent of Larry Mullen Jr. of U2. It's a fitting introduction to The Apollo Effect, a Canadian band who draw plenty of inspiration from the U.K. scene. Back home, their melodic sound has proven successful: they won the Great Canadian Band Challenge in 2007, defeating over 400 competitors. Their debut album is called "Antisocial Disorder," but this unreleased song is available exclusively right here on TORO.

  • I don't mean to sound offensive, but this song has the exact feel as 'Bad' by U2. To the point where the lyrics 'I'm wide awake. I'm not sleeping' are used in this song and in 'Bad' at the very end of both of them. Same type of melody as well. Don't get me wrong I don't mind the song, but this type of song was already mastered by one of the world's most recognizable bands many years ago.

  • All music is built on copying. Since the beginning of time, music has survived and evolved by being passed along, changed, altered, sometimes in small ways. Many songs written before the "rock" age have no author, or exist under multiple titles/lyrics. Who's to say U2 didn't take elements of "Bad" from someone else? Just because you've pinpointed the source doesn't make these guys any guiltier. Let people build on what they will.
