I can't believe all the bickering over this film. Who cares? It's obvious that the British Empire were jerks, just look back in history. They were this dinky little country trying to take over the whole world. Of course the Irish wanted their freedom, it was their country to begin with. No country should occupy another country! People want to be free to do what they want, run their country how they want, and believe in whatever they want. We need to mind our own business and leave others alone!

@thenewlodge well said mate i told someone that at least 20 million russians died in that war - mostly civilians, compared to 245,000 (odd) british and 6 million jewish - not sure about america. they laughed in my face and said i was talkin balls - probably cos the tv never said it! btw good video m8 im a prod from north belfast but have read irish history. paisley's body language when giving a speech reminds me of hitler.

The British are tyrannical. There's no doubt about that. Six counties, folks... Britain's "empire" also includes Australia, New Zealand and Canada... there are others, too.

Get the British out of the north of Ireland.

@gamblemadman Through democratic process and no other. The will of the majority will determine the outcome and religion more than ever before will not come into play. The ROI is fast becoming one of the most secular nations in Europe with the recent reports on the wide spread and systematic ABUSES of children at the hands of roman catholic clergy and their attempt to cover it up. Being a fully independent nation is preferable to me over joining the ROI.
