Decided to make a video to show how to remove the headlights on a Cobalt, since many people have problems trying to do this, especially for first timers.

EDIT: Since a few people have commented that I don't describe how to change the actual bulb, I'll add it here. Once the headlight is out, disconnect the big blue plug that's plugged into the back of the bulb. Twist the big black ring thing counter clockwise until it becomes free. Remove it and the bulb will be free for removal. Install new bulb and installation is reverse of removal.

  • do you have to disconnect the battery before changing the bulbs??? im such a girl.. but chevy said it would be $300 to change $10 bulbs... ummm no... i will try myself damnit lol

  • @siempresola77 You are better off disconnecting the battery just to be on the safe side.

  • I have those same head lights. Do you have any tips for adjusting the beam hight with the head lights on the vehicle. I always have to take the off to reach the adjustments.

  • @bkirbytwo The light's design prevents you from adjusting while the light is attached to the car. No real way around that.

  • Thank u so much! I have the same projector headlights and need to replace some leds, do you know what size I need to get and if they can even be replaced?

  • @cindylou21tx never had to replace the LEDs when i had those lights so i have no idea sorry.

  • @siempresola77 Hate to say it but the Chevy muck-an-nics were going to charge $300 because you're a girl. Never go to a dealer for repairs....they are a total rip-off.

  • Helped a ton thank you!!!!!

  • Why didn't I you tube this first!

  • Thanks a million! The hint to remove the plastic clip was what I needed. I did this a few years back and it was such a pain. Done in 5 minutes this time.

  • i wish i would have seen this video before getting one of my headlights out and replaced. it was such a fucking pain in the ass!

  • Thanks for posting this! Helped me out a lot:)
