@fromAllah2u I toatally and absolutely agree. We have this celebration annually in Rabi ul Awal but you can have it any day. We cannot be thankful enough that we are the Ummah of Muhammad Peace be Upon Him. We need to do the fard and try to follow the Sunnah. When we celebrate Milad we are celebrating the birh of the Prophet Peace be Upon Him so we are saying that he is born and he can;t be God Allah. In the Quran and Salah we read Surah Iqlas which testifies that Allah is pak of birth.
@Ghareeba1509 You are committing loads of biddah everyday but when it comes to celebrating the gift that we have been given you have an issue. Milad will not take anyone to Hell but you will learn more about the Prohet and you will love him more. This is a great biddah not anything that will take you to hell.
@Ghareeba1509 There ar two kinds of biddah. You are doing lots and lots of things which are biddah but celebrated the gift of the Prophet you have a problem with. When the sahaba were praisng the prohet in Masid Nabvi he did not stop them. He asked them to swear that was what they were doing. We cannot praise Allah's beloved enough.
You claim to love the Prophet (S) so much, yet you aren't willing to stick to his Sunnah? People just want to run with what they want, with what they think is right, with what they think is best for them.
"...This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion..." 5:3
We are to practise the religion as it was left for us by the Messenger (S), completed and perfected. So why all this Bid'ah?
@Technical82 We are the Ummah of Muhammad is that not reason to celebrate. There is no risk of equating Muhammad as God as we have the Kalima, the Quran and the Hadeeth. When the companians were praising the Prophet in Masjid Nabvi he didn;t stop them but asked them to swear that they were praising the Prohet Peace be Upong Him. Not beacause he doubted their honesty but to reinforce the fact that it is good to praise a gift that you have been given by Allah.
@fromAllah2u Muhammad Peace be Upon him is the Imam of all the Prohets. Didn't all the prophets pray behind Muhammad Peace be Upon Him. We celebrat Mawlid by reciting the Quran, hearing about the miracles and the life of Allah's beloved and we have a feast. We do not have anything which is unislamic in these gatherings. Allah says rejoice and be happy when you are given a blessing. We were and have been given a blessing when the prophet Muhammad came to earth.
@Technical82 Children rejoicing with the daff..? This isn't what I'm seeing here.
It's actually something totally different.
Here I see some men walking the streets of Small heath - B'ham, just emabarassing themselves to be honest.
The children in Madina at the time were celebrating the Prophet (S) on entering Madina safely, here you people are celebrating his birthday SOMETHING WHICH HE NEVER DID AND NEITHER DID ANY OF THE SAHAABAS.
@Technical82 what did the christians do with jesus. the over praised him to the point that they now worship him and believe he is son of god. do they also not celebrate his birthday? why don't you celebrate jesus's birthday too? he was a prophet.
prophet muhammad peace be upon him said "do not over praise me as the Christians over-praised the son of Mary. I am His slave so say: 'Allah's slave and messenger'" [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
@fromAllah2u I haven't come across many Christians who over praise the Prophet Peace be Upon Him although Michael Hart put our Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him No 1 as the most influential men to have lived in his book the 100 Greatest Men ever to have lived.
