1949 Chevrolet 3800 Deluxe Panel Truck

Here's a rare survivor -- a 1949 3800 1 Ton Chevy Panel Truck. This truck has the Deluxe set of chrome and interior appointments -- I don't know if they were factory or added by a prior owner. The truck is mostly original, with new paint. The generator has been upgraded to a 12V unit, and someone adapted a 1970s 3/4 ton differential 3rd member to the original rear end housing and axles to get better freeway gears. I have used this truck for over a year as a delivery vehicle with no problems. I and my staff hae driven it all over theBay Area -- it always draws attention. It is still "workng for a living" after 60+ years! Background music is Tennessee 1949 by Larry Sparks

to chang the gears use a thired member from a 67-72 3/4 ton should fit like a glove i know it works on gmc, i also have a 54 3/4 ton panel asking 2,500

It needs another gear!!! does it have the saginaw 3 speed? If that was my truck i would paint ti mustard yellow and have a carpenter build me draws in the back and put a, "Helms bakery" sign on that truck!...What a beauty that is... Well done!
